On Saturday May 14, 2011 the KVPC was invited to kick-off the Child's Network Walk held at the Kankakee River State Park. The KVPC was happy to help kick off the holiday season on Thursday December 2, 2010 with the Annual Lion's Tree Lighting in beautiful downtown Kankakee. The festivites began at the Kankakee Public Library, with the lighting of the wreath's on the Lions. Lead by a marching band to the Kankakee Railroad Museum, where the KVPC performed and invited those in attendance to sing-along to traditional Christmas Carols.
On Sunday, December 5, 2010, KVPC presented, "A Christmas Gift" under the direction of Marla Barnard. This show touched the hearts of many! "Indeed, within every one of us lies a unique gift - each different, yet equally significant. Every moment is also a gift - made all the more glorious when shared with others. When we open our eyes and our hearts to this, these gifts begin to unfold and reveal themselves." We hope that all who attended the show this year were reminded of the many gifts that surround us during this Chrismtas season and beyond. Next year's show is scheduled for Sunday December 4th, 2011.
